Aglaja Amadò, nata a Lugano (Svizzera), ha studiato recitazione a Londra, New York e Los Angeles, diplomandosi nel 2009 alla American Academy of Dramatic Arts di Los
Angeles, dove ha partecipato a diverse produzioni indipendenti americane.
Nel 2010 rientra in Svizzera, iniziando a lavorare nel mondo audiovisivo locale. Nel 2014 produce il suo primo cortometraggio, “Carvina”, proiettato al Giffoni Film
Festival nel 2015 e molti altri.

Parallelamente alla carriera artistica, dal 2015 insegna
teatro a bambini e ragazzi, sviluppando un approccio che unisce formazione teatrale, creatività e valore educativo.
Dal 2023 fonda e dirige l’Associazione Culturale Lumina, con sede in Ticino, attiva nella promozione dell’inclusione sociale e del dialogo interculturale attraverso l’arte.  Con
Lumina ha curato progetti di forte impatto sociale, come “Le Tre Porte” (2024), iniziativa
teatrale e laboratoriale contro il razzismo che con 15 repliche  ha coinvolto oltre 1’200 persone, circa il
70% studenti, con una replica gratuita dedicata a categorie svantaggiate. Il progetto ha ricevuto il sostegno del Servizio federale per la lotta al razzismo, del DECS, della Ernst Göhner Stiftung, del Servizio per l’integrazione degli stranieri e di altri enti pubblici e privati.

Nel 2025, insieme all’Associazione Lumina e alla Scuola Musicando, ha ideato e realizzato “Il mistero delle note scomparse”, spettacolo teatrale-musicale interattivo che
unisce teatro, musica dal vivo e gioco. Lo spettacolo, con già 6 repliche realizzate, accompagna i bambini in un’avventura divertente e misteriosa, stimolando creatività,
ascolto e immaginazione attraverso il coinvolgimento attivo del pubblico.

Con un percorso che abbraccia recitazione, produzione e insegnamento, Aglaja Amadò porta avanti un lavoro che intreccia arte, educazione e impegno sociale, creando esperienze culturali capaci di parlare a diverse generazioni.

Aglaja Amadò, born in Lugano, Switzerland, studied acting in London, New York, and Los Angeles. In 2009 she graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, where she took part in several independent American productions. She returned to Switzerland in 2010, beginning her career in the local audiovisual field.
In 2014 she produced her first short film, “Carvina”, which was screened at the Giffoni Film Festival in 2015 and many others. 

Alongside her artistic work, since 2015 she has also been teaching theatre to children and young people, combining creativity, stage practice, and educational value.

Since 2023 she has been the founder and artistic director of Lumina, a cultural association based in Ticino that promotes social inclusion and intercultural dialogue through art. With Lumina, she helped develop impactful projects such as “Le Tre Porte” (2024), a theatrical and workshop-based initiative against racism that involved over 1,200 people, about 70% of whom were students, including one free performance dedicated to disadvantaged groups. The project was supported by the Federal Service for Combating Racism, the DECS, the Ernst Göhner Stiftung, the Foreigners Integration Service, and other public and private partners.

In 2025, together with Lumina and Scuola Musicando, she created “The Mystery of the Missing Notes”, an interactive theatre and music show that combines live music, performance, and play. With already six performances staged, the show invites children to become protagonists in a fun and mysterious adventure, helping Ms. Nota and the eccentric Dr. Pentagramma find the missing notes of a magical melody. The project blends theatre, live music, and participatory workshops to foster creativity, listening skills, and imagination.

With a background spanning acting, producing, and teaching, Aglaja Amadò continues to develop projects that weave together art, education, and social engagement, creating cultural experiences that resonate across generations.
